If you’re like me and baking doesn’t exactly come naturally to you, here’s a nice easy peasy apple tart recipe for you!
What you need:
Cooking Apple (I used around 4 large apples)
1/2 grated lemon grind
350g plain flour
Water to mix
Egg to glaze
Pre heat the oven to 200c / Gas mark 6.
Put the flour and margarine in a bowl and rub them together until they resemble breadcrumbs. Add enough water to form a stiff dough.
Roll out the dough on a well floured surface. Use half to line the bottom of your pie dish. Peel the apples and mix with the lemon grind and sugar. Put them into the dish. Use the remaining pastry to cover the top and seal the edges.
Brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle with caster sugar.
Bake for 20mins then lower the oven to 180c /gas mark 4 and bake for another 3020 mins. The pastry should be golden brown. Serve hot or cold.
