Christmas On Netflix…
Who doesn’t love snuggling up in their pyjamas with lots of goodies watching family movies over the Christmas break!
Here’s some festive movies we’ve been watching or will be watching this Christmas on Netflix.
When one little girls’ present gets missed on Christmas Eve, Santa’s son, Arthur, sets out on a mission with his Grandfather to get the present to her and save the day with only 2 hours to spare before morning. A lovely, fun, heartwarming movie.
Miracle On 34th Street
What’s not to love? The late Richard Attenborough is the ACTUAL Santa as far as I’m concerned, and little Susan with her cute little lisp is adorable. I don’t feel like I need to introduce the movie to anyone. A Classic! That moment when the officer shouts the verdict of Santa’s trial out the window to the waiting crowd. All the tears!
Deck The Halls
I put this on the other night and the 6 year old groaned that he wouldn’t like it. Needless to say he was bet into it more than anyone. When new neighbour, Buddy, moves in across the road, he sets out a mission to make his house visible from Space with Christmas lights, much to the annoyance of neighbour, Steve. They go to war with one another and naturally it all goes wrong. It’s cheesy and predictable but the kids loved it.
Jingle All The Way
Another super cheesy one but sure, isn’t that what it’s all about! Workaholic Dad tries to make it up to his Son and Wife by promising to deliver the most sought after toy, Turbo-Man, even though it’s Christmas Eve. Along with mailman, Myron, who’s on the same mission, the two Dad’s fight it out to get their hands on Turbo-Man. Now, why the kid didn’t just ask Santa for Turbo-Man weeks ago I’m not sure but anyway, it’s a bit of fun..
Two last two movies are not Christmas movies, but brilliant ones all the same that my kids will enjoy watching over the break.
Hook, with the late, great Robin Williams, is a classic. I don’t think it needs any intro. A brilliant family movie full of magic.
And speaking of magic, our last movie is
The kids love Matilda. A little girl with – well, shitty parents – and a strict, bully of a school principal, uses her new found powers to fight back against Principal Trunchbull and defend herself and her friends. There’s a scene where Trunchbull leaps over a banisters and shouts “TALLY HO” and my kids laugh their socks off when they hear it. A fun movie for all the family.
That’s some of the movies we’ll watch on Netflix this Christmas. Any other suggestions? Let me know. 🙂
(Note: I was given a free Netflix subscription in exchange for posts on what we’re watching. All views are my own)
I have another post with some classic Christmas Movies HERE if you fancy a look.
