The Emotions Of Getting An Extension

My blog has been quiet lately. That’s because we are currently getting an extension on to the back of our house. While I know it will end soon(ish) and will be brilliant, the current state of my house is: ‘Absolute F*cking Kip.’ In the last 2 weeks I have experienced the following emotions.. Excitement. We’re going to get a proper big kitchen. Yay! Fear and apprehension as the builders rocked in and knocked walls down all over the place. (Okay, one..) Stress and exasperation just trying to keep SOME of the house in a normal state. Who knew one room getting done could cause such chaos! Impatience. WHEN WILL IT […]

The 10 Stages Of A Hangover With Kids…

1. The night out. The culprit. That wonderful warm feeling as you get all dressed up for a rare night out. Completely shutting out the pain you will feel tomorrow. Pure denial. Be grand. 2. The 7.30am wake up call from one of the kids looking for something. Scraping your eyelids open and feeling like someone poured a bucket of sand down your throat in the middle of the night. You can’t cope with this. Why did you have that last drink!! 3. Falling in and out of a fuzzy unsettling sleep for the next couple of hours with the sound of the kids vaguely popping into your head every […]

7 Times Your Children Are After Your Sanity…

1. The early morning starts. Any time between 6am and 7am. Usually 6am. A 7am will happen the odd time to get your hopes up and make you happy.. then it will go back to 6am.. for a long time. Obviously they’ll want your full attention and you have about 1.5 seconds to fully wake up. 2. Breakfast time. They’re eating away and everyone’s happy. Perfect time to pop upstairs and get dressed. A RAGING argument will ensue in the 60 seconds you’ve been gone, usually as you hop around trying to get your legs into your jeans. 3. Collection time from School. A Shit Day.. Hypothetically..

*Warning: bad language below…* You know those days were you just wake up on the wrong side of the bed? No real explanation. Nothing bad has happened. Just feeling pissed off for absolutely nothing.  And it seems when you wake up like this, your negative vibes attract crappiness and the crappiness comes at you like your a crap magnet.  For instance, such things like, if you wake up in a bad mood and go to let the cat out, you might find that he has taken two big runny shits on your carpet, despite his clean litter tray being right there. You might find that trying to clean up an […]

Organix Goodies Chunky Fruit Bars Review

Organix sent us out these new Goodies Chunky Fruit Bars to review, due in all major retailers by the end of April. Retailing at GB£2.49 as a 6pk of individually wrapped bars, they come in two flavours – Banana & Date and Apple & Date. Small bars with five bite sized chunks which can be broken off. Handy for kids like mine who will pick at pieces of fruit as a small snack. My eldest likened the shape of them to a kinder bar. My kids loved the bright packaging. Very colourful, fun and appealing. They also loved the fun fact on the back of the packet. My eldest is […]
