In the space of about 3 days I’ve absolutely binge watched The People v. O.J. Simpson on Netflix.
I’d seen the trailer on the Netflix twitter page and thought it looked good.
An ‘American crime story’ would never have been my thing before. If I just came across this on “normal tv” I honestly probably wouldn’t watch it. That’s what I love about Netflix. It opens me up to shows I usually wouldn’t watch.
In my last Netflix post I said the same thing about Bloodline. Wouldn’t normally have gone for it but it’s bloody brilliant! Roll on Season 3 (and more drooling over Kyle Chandler!)
Anyway, presumably everyone and anyone is familiar with the trial of OJ Simpson back in the 90’s for the murder of Nicole Brown & Ron Goldman.
I was only a kid at the time but I still remember, it was everywhere.
I thought the cast line up was brilliant for this one. Cuba Gooding Jr. was fantastic as OJ Simpson, and I especially loved how David Schwimmer played Robert Kardashian. He was portrayed as a very kind, honest, loyal man who my heart went out to. He clearly struggled between his loyalty and suspicion that things weren’t right.
I’ve rarely seen David Schwimmer on screen other than Friends. He was brilliant.
When it shows all the actors alongside all the actual characters it’s amazing how well they did it and how similar they all looked.
Oh, and John travolta and the eyebrows! Yikes!
Obviously I knew the outcome (!!!) but the whole 10 episodes had me gripped from start to finish. Every single episode was fascinating. Loved it.
I’ve googled so much about the case at this stage I could nearly consider myself an expert!!!
Here’s a look at the trailer.. Oh, and I still think he’s guilty as sin… and those gloves fit……..
That’s two fairly heavy crime shows I’ve watched so I’m in need of something that will give me a laugh now. Really looking forward to the return of Grace & Frankie this month! Bring it on! 🙂
So that’s what been on our screens this week. Let me know what you’re watching or if you have any recommendations!
