Christmas On Netflix…

Who doesn’t love snuggling up in their pyjamas with lots of goodies watching family movies over the Christmas break!  We do!  Here’s some festive movies we’ve been watching or will be watching this Christmas on Netflix.  Arthur Christmas  When one little girls’ present gets missed on Christmas Eve, Santa’s son, Arthur, sets out on a mission with his Grandfather to get the present to her and save the day with only 2 hours to spare before morning. A lovely, fun, heartwarming movie.  Miracle On 34th Street  What’s not to love? The late Richard Attenborough is the ACTUAL Santa as far as I’m concerned, and little Susan with her cute little […]

Elf On The Shelf Ideas…

Ah yes. It’s that time of year again. Where we all give ourselves the extra pressure of having to move an Elf every single night in December. Fun!! 😉  It’s worth it though (well, mostly) when the kids get up in the mornings and you can hear them running around wondering where the Elf is and what he got up to! And sure it’s only for a couple of weeks really.. (Clearly trying to convince myself!)  Our Elf is Sparkles Mc Jingle Bells. He came to us last year asking us to adopt him and the kids ADORE him. They were dying for him to return this year!  It was […]

The Christmas Fairy Review & Giveaway…

We’re big fans of The Irish Fairy Door Company in this house! Our fairy, Rosie, is a regular visitor through her Fairy Door, and we have the Worry Plaque which we reviewed before. You can read about that here.  Now, the Irish Fairy Door Company have kindly sent us their latest product to review – The Christmas Fairy!  Specially trained in Fairy Valley, The Christmas Fairy loves to be placed on top of your Christmas tree and not moved so she can report to Santa Claus all of the good things you do. Without the need to be placed in different locations, The Christmas Fairy will oversee the magical delivery […]

How To Watch The Late Late Toy Show Outside Ireland…

Are you all set for the Toy Show?  We love it! Can’t wait! I genuinely believe the boys favourite part of it is how late it’s on and seeing if they can last! Last year one lasted the entire show while one went to bed fairly early on. I predict the same for this year but we’ll see! Our tree is up (yes!!), we have a tin of roses at the ready, the boys have new pjs to wear for it, (spoilt rotten like) and it’s on December 1st this year so the advent calendars are ready and waiting! The excitement!  If you’re not at home for Christmas this year, […]

Christmas Shoebox Appeal

Every year I hear about the Christmas Shoebox Appeal and I’m adamant this year that I will start including it in our Annual Christmas Traditions. What a great way to teach our kids about charity, humility and compassion for those that have little to nothing.  My kids will be lucky enough again this year to wake up in their cozy house on Christmas morning and sit around their Christmas tree ripping open all the toys they’ve asked for. They deserve to of course, but I want them to be grateful for all these things that they have, so we’re taking part in the Christmas Shoebox Appeal with Team Hope.  Every […]

Our Top Christmas Movies…

Home Alone  It needs no introduction does it? In fact, none of these movies do! Surely everyone, EVERYONE, has seen – and loves – Home Alone? I don’t even know if I want to know any different.. It’s a Christmas classic that we can’t get enough of. Home Alone 2  If anything, even better than the first one. Marv makes me LOL regularly in this one. Cheesy but hilarious! We always giggle no matter how many times we’ve seen it. The Muppet Christmas Carol  Admittedly, it’s me who loves this more so than the kids. I’ve watched this every year for as long as I can remember. It’s the music in […]

December, Christmas & Nostalgia..

December 1st. At the risk of sounding like a complete ‘aul one. “Where has the year gone???????” Really!!! Blink and you miss it! Wasn’t Halloween only yesterday??? It freaks me out a bit. I think every year as the kids get older and go to school, it all seems to be going by faster. This year just disappeared and I don’t know what’s going on. So what will next year be like!? Slow down life!! I’m struggling to catch up! I love Christmas. Without a doubt, it’s my favourite time of the year. Himself will argue that Summer is better. Brighter. Warmer. (Well, sometimes. It is Ireland after all.) And yes, […]
